Le Lucé creates an exquisitely innovative dining experience that pays tribute to the noble history of Baron Jacques Pineau de Viennay’s centuries old neoclassical castle, while infusing an au courant joie de vivre. The artfully plated dishes created by Chef Maxime Thomas, presented in the gorgeous garden-side salon are transportive. The unparalleled service and resplendent historical surroundings coupled with the fabulous, tastefully prepared cuisine deliver an experience that exceeds expectations.
Located in Hotel Château du Grand-Lucé, Le Lucé was built in the palace’s former games room. As the only space in the Château at garden level, meals can be enjoyed al fresco on the stunning formal parterre. The restaurant itself is breathtaking, with original open-beam ceilings, reclaimed tomette tile floors and magnificent windows with views to the gardens and beyond. Equally striking is the adjoining bar, built in the former chapel that served the Baron de Lucé. The interiors of both are inspired by the verdant greens of the gardens, paying homage to the history of the castle and the region, while infusing just the right amount of modernity, much like the dishes created by Executive Chef Maxime Thomas.
